Session 2

Many people, even those with strong skills and good opportunities, unconsciously keep themselves within a certain "financial corridor." They may be capable of earning more, but as their income approaches a new level, they begin to feel unexplained discomfort — a sense that "this isn't for me," fear of losing everything, guilt toward people who earn less, or a sudden urge to retreat back into a safe zone.
This is not laziness or a lack of ambition. It is a psychological defense mechanism often referred to as financial capacity or an income thermostat.
Research in money psychology (studies by Brad Klontz, Kees de Graaf, and publications in the Journal of Behavioral Finance and Financial Psychology Review, 2020–2026) suggests that most people have an internal limit on how much they "allow" themselves to earn or possess. This limit often forms during childhood through family beliefs, social environment, and early emotional experiences related to money.
When income approaches this internal threshold, unconscious sabotage strategies can appear: procrastination, impulsive spending, rejecting opportunities, or even physical discomfort.
Our webinar series offers a calm and honest exploration of where the fear of large amounts of money comes from, why the brain sometimes interprets financial growth as a threat, and which gentle, research-based approaches can help gradually expand one's internal financial capacity.
